Before
Project Proposal & Outline
(what you intend to do and how)
I have decided to create an online tool (similar to OneNote) with SharePoint specifically for study notes and research purposes. It will allow the student to upload their study notes (storage for files) but also allow them to create new study notes on the tool and be able to research via a google search bar (research & note taking). There will also be a built in chat, thereby facilitating collaboration & communication and a built in planner so that students can schedule their study sessions (scheduling & time planning). There will also be a portfolio page where students can blog their research, which others students can see via URL. Students can also choose to monitor these blogs (monitoring emerging data) easily by following them, which will come up on their homepages.
Edit:
I've decided to simplify this task for me, so instead I'm using iGoogle (so it's online) as the foundation for my tool. I will just add a variety of tools via gadgets including: sticky notes & Google Notebook (note taking), a chat (collaboration & communication), a calender (scheduling & time planning), a custom RSS feed, and there's already links to Google Docs (storage for files) and Google search (+links to dictionarygeek & youtube) (research).
Team Contract
(signed agreement amongst team members)
I agree to wholly contributing my effort and time into this project. [insert signature]
Roles & Responsibilities
(who is doing what)I have chosen to work individually, so I am doing everything.
Time Frame & Resources
(what you are going to do and how)
Day 1
Resources = iGoogle
1. Open iGoogle
2. Look Up Gadgets
3. Add Gadgets
Day 2
Resources = ?
1. Written tutorial
2. Recorded tutorial
Identify Your Audience
(age group, language, education)
My organisational tool will be targeted towards all [english-speaking] senior students in their preliminary and senior years. The tool will be simple enough for non-IST students to be able to understand and use it.
After
Lessons Learnt
(difficulties, new experiences etc...)
From this project, as well as the tools for school task, I have learnt that there are several online (free!) tools which can aid in studying. Personally, typewith.me, iGoogle & skydrive seem more suited towards me (as in they are the tools I will most likely use). Evernote or Onenote also seems like something I would try in the future.
